Major Gift Opportunities: Museum and Visitor Center Expansion

The Pearl Harbor story is told best where it happened ... at the USS Arizona Memorial. Some 1.5 million visitors per year — far more than anyone anticipated when the Memorial Museum and Visitor Center were built — can attest to its instructive and emotional effect.

Still, there are many more Pearl Harbor stories to be told, artifacts and memorabilia never on exhibit in the open-air Museum due to lack of space and proper temperature/humidity control. In this expansion, YOU have the opportunity to help double the size of the Museum, protect the existing exhibits and create new ones, tell the many stories of Pearl Harbor better than ever before. A completely new research and resource management facility will enable National Park Service staff and other scholars to increase our store of knowledge about Pearl Harbor.

Enlarged workspaces for Park Service and Museum Association staff will better serve up to 4,500 visitors per day from around the world. The popular bookshop — with its unique line of historic newspapers, photographs, eyewitness books, military models, commemorative gifts, and American flags that have flown over the Arizona — will also expand.

A Memorial Endowment will permanently supplement Museum/Visitor Center funding. Perpetual endowment offers you a deeply meaningful opportunity to memorialize someone.

Here are some of the more prominent giving opportunities meriting special recognition for donors. (Note: Memorial/Museum facilities may not be named for/by donors.)
